New pup and new to coon hunting

I just want to start out saying that i am new to coon hunting but have abunch of old timers helping me along. I bought a walker pup out of Wipeout Shorty and Fall creek macy. I just sent in his puppy papers and i am really excitedto see his whole bloodline. i was just wondering if anyone has heardof the sire or dam? and just general tips on coonhunting.thanks and god bless

patience! also right befor you feed that pup say do it on a monday then agien on a friday take you a coon hide or tail and play tug of war with it etc but only for a men. then put it up with the pup still wanting it then feed your pup id wait until it gets around 9 months to a year befor i put the heavy hunting on it though

Patience and Consistency is KEY when it comes to training a pup!!!! If possible buy or borrow a FINISHED hound. Going hunting in itself with a finished/broke hound can teach YOU and your pup (When he/she is ready) a whole lot about hunting. Best of luck, and welcome to the great sport of COON HUNTING!!

Thanks. I got him when he was about 4 months old. He has been playing with a coon hide ever since. He has been taken out about 5 times with a real good older dog. He has started to run with them but won't tree. But he will bawl at the coon hide in his kennel
