Platte Valley Breed Hounds

I am creating this post for all Platte Valley breed hound. I would like to see pics or videos and names of any hound that is submitted to the thread and pedigrees if able.

So let me see your Platte Valley hound.

If you are unbable to post pictures you can email them to me at plainenglishjr@yahoo.com or via cell phone @ (304) 575-4495 and I will post them for you.

I would also like to hear your thoughts on this line of hound good or bad.

I will submit the first photo that was emailed to me from Micheal Jameson from Platte River Kennels

Platte Valley Thurman and Kelly Stagner...one of the few Blue dogs Kelly kept in the later years.

i owned a redtick dog back in the early 90s that was a grand pup to platte valley spike.i kept him till he died of heart failure in his prime at 5 years old but he was all coondog from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail 24/7 365 he was a true pleasure to own and hunt.

I personally never used the PLatte Valley breeding much in my breeding program, I had some issues with the style of track dog they were and to be honest, they were not the style of tree dogs I preferred either. So, with Buddy, I concentrated on his Junior breeding instead.

I think Platte Valley was good for it's time but they were not the modern competition style dogs that we have today.

There were lots of very good crosses with Platte Valley on the Junior bloodlines and there were many famous English that carried Platte Valley blood. Probably the best was World Champion Dual Grand Champion Dickey's Old Sandy. Sandy carried lots of Platte Valley on her mother's side. Old Sandy appears many, many times in my dog's pedigrees. So does Buddy.

My opinions are just mine, I am sure others have other opinions.
