A Few Pics From the Oklahoma Bluetickers Get Together

I had a great time down in Oklahoma the short time I got to stay at the Camping and Hunting Trip. The hunting was rough because of the terrible drought, the rough mountains, and the high winds, but we treed a few and had tremendous fellowship and some mighty fine eating.

I didn't pack my camera to the woods, so I didn't get any real action shots, but I did take a few pictures around the camp.

Here is a group shot. From left to right: Gary Uchtman and Logan; Austin Cox and DUI; Matt davis and Jewel.

Here is a shot of DUI by himself. I was very impressed with this young dog and plan on breeding to him in the near future. He has a beautiful mouth, can forever more move a track, and minds like a house dog. He is also a nice tree dog. I think he is one of the finest looking young dogs I have seen.

Here is a picture of DUI and his mother, Nt. Ch. Barbwire, a full sister to Screwey Lewey.

Last but not least, I wanted to include a picture of one of the nicest gentlemen I have had the privilege of meeting...Larry Hamlin, better known as "Big L."

Larry is a lot of fun and a super good camp cook. He will keep you laughing and well fed. He was one of the reasons this was such a great trip. Hats off to Big L, shown here in action.

I also want to say that it was nice hunting and visiting with Matt Davis, known here as Blue Style.

Matt brought his Snowman pup along, and I can tell you he is for real. The old pup hung in there on a couple of tough races through rough terrain, and treed his heart out. He is going to make one from all I can see.

As a side note, there were several young men from Austin Cox's Alternative School program who came out and camped and hunted with us. This was the first such experience for most of them, and it was a joy to see them experience horses, mules, camping and coon hunting for the first time. I hope this week made a difference for some of them.

It was an enjoyable time, one I would love to repeat next year.

Those first two hounds in that picture are good son of a guns.

As to the comment about the man the man holding the ugly white dog, I will refrain except to say that I am glad it was him in the picture and not my ugly mug.
