when u do spend time on the bench do not do it to long just more often they will get bored if to long at a time 5 good training better than 15 if part of the time is not fun for them

depending on age, just realize that you may be entering for experience. and sometimes that is necessary.
work on comfort, feet placement, standing still, head

KEEP PRACTICING AND LEARNING. SMALL PRACTICE SESSIONS. WHEN YOU GET FRUSTRATED STOP.

is 7 months to old to train? also how in the world do you get the pup to stay still?

not to old, just easier controlling a smaller pup to start with.

KEEP PRACTICING AND LEARNING. SMALL PRACTICE SESSIONS. WHEN YOU GET FRUSTRATED STOP.

the stop part is important unless you have the patience of a saint. Many have been spoiled by a lost temper . Some pups/dogs learn fast and some never do . Judge for yourself if you have a winner and be honest with yourself. It's a big step from the local club to Autumn Oaks but you may have the next World Champion or not so it's your side of the team that has to decide what you do since the other half doesn't care .
I sometimes pick a pup up off the bench suddenly to get their attention or gently give them a little shake by the back of the neck. They have no idea whats right or wrong in the beginning and learn by repetition day after day and exposure to whats wanted and expected of them.
