well at least i know i'm not completely crazy for asking.I haven't had a lot of time lately to hunt at night but a lot of time to hunt during the day and had thought about going out just to get my dogs out of the kennels.

I hunt lots in the mornings. I tree about as many coon in the daylight as night. I think it depends a whole lot on the dog. The dog I hunt in the day time knows where to find coon. He will get in the creek and check out every drift and hole along the bank. Most of the time he will come up with a coon sometime during the hunt.

Happened several times this fall
I have a young Leopard male and a 3 yr old BMC that run loose here on the farm. When I go out to do my 4 O'clock chores, they seem to think it is time for them to take off and do their 'chores'. They go down on the bottom and get treed at least once a week. Though this summer, it seemed to be ground hogs that were up the tree. lol About 2 weeks ago, I had to go get them just before dark and they were treed on a den. The tree was broke off about 15 ft above the ground and the Leopard had climbed up the break over and was barking in the top of the 15 ft stump. I climbed up to bring him down, as I was afraid he would fall out.

daytime coons
tree them morning, mid day, and evening, some dens but most on outside, takes unique dog to tree coons 4 oclock in evening, almost hard to believe till you and others see it
My dog more likely to get a pet at 4PM, than at any other time But I guess that is just you an me and the dog.. I'll grab a viveand pull a nest right down. Mine don't tree nestes in the day time and I bet ours don't tree nests on mmonlihgt nights neither.
