Blue aint exactly the color ticks I am accustomed to although I have had a blue dog once. She was a accurate old gal but with her age came a liking to treeing holes for some reason and that got real old real fast. She was super heavy Jet bred and a pretty ol dog...at least to me anyhow. I think she was about 8yrs old when this pic was taken with an old 35mm camera, that is if you can see thru my fat finger.

BCD, thanks for the compliments, she seems to be a bit older than I thought she was (not that it matters) but as of right now I dont have papers in hand to know for sure. The young fellers mom put the papers up so they wouldnt get lost and not where they thought the safe place was. Papers aint a huge deal for me if she trees coon and she is supposed to run and tree her own coon just a little loose at the tree. But I admit I do like to look and see where a dog comes from and how its bred. Not going to hunt her for a few nights to give her time to get used to me but if she does then all I can say is I hit the jackpot with her cause there is no way the price could be beat and besides I always said that a black n tan was second on my wishlist behind a redtick.

Bluedog, its funny how many have thought that. I have gotten a ton of pms asking about redbones and have never owned one. When I first signed up for this site I was going to use the same screen name BlueJack that I had on all the other message boards I was visiting but it was already taken. That one came from the beagle I bought my son when he turned a year old. Bluetick beagle obviously named Jack, how ingenious was that. Since it was taken on here already I tried another and another and another and all were taken. Sat back to think of something else, reached to my back pocket, pulled out a pouch of redman and a screen name was born. Now how stupid of a story is that especially since my name is in my sig. Never dawned on me to just go with my own blamed name. DUHHH!!!

Jon, have you ever seen any english that were both. I have seen a couple and they are some unique looking hounds to say the least. One in particular came from a litter of 2 straight redtick parents but one of the pups from almost dead center of the dog forward was as bluetick as could be and the rear end was as redtick as could be. Looked like you cut two dogs in half and stitched opposite end together. Funny thing was they were born on the Fourth of July and being red white and blue the dog was named Independence after it started showing full on coloring. Dont know exactly what to say about this dog but it was one of those things where nothing matched from front to rear or anything from the rest of the litter for that matter, I guess it would be one of those that was so ugly it was gorgeous because it was different and definately eye catching. Made a dang fine hound too.

My dog Dexter is out of Timber Cutter N Cedar Creek Bee they are both redtick he has red head, bluetick center with red at his rear. In my opinion there are prettier dogs but he is a COONDAWG. My Zues N Puddles pup Briar he looks more like a bluetick than alot of Reg. blueticks I see.
