Has anyone had any problems with frontline type flea/tick stuff? Put some one mine and the hair started coming out and skin looks blistered. Thanks for any help.

Go to walmart and buy bayer tree and shrub spray. Its supposed to be the same ingredients.A vet actually told me that. Ive used it for a few years now and i love it. I havent had ANY hair issues out of it and it will wipe the fleas out.

I have used Frontline and Bio Spot. Never had that kind of problem with them.

What kind of problems would you have with frontline?
The reason I ask is I have dog with a rash, kind of a infection on its back. I've had her to the vet several times and nothing has seemed to clear it up, but it would be right area where I put frontline last summer.
I have been putting over the counter anti fungus wash from the farm store on it this spring and it seems to help.
don't really know if this is the cause but curious as to what frontline side affects are?

Are there any side effects when using FRONTLINE?
Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product. Since FRONTLINE Brand Products are topical some pets may experience temporary irritation at the site of product application. If signs persist, or become more severe within a few days of application, consult your veterinarian immediately.

Are there any side effects of Frontline Plus?
Fipronil (the chemical ingredients in Frontline Plus) has been shown in studies to be neurotoxic to dogs and rats and affects the reproduction of rats. There have also been some disturbing reports of carcinogenicity (cancer causing) in the rat studies (however it must be stated that rats in these studies were given large amounts of fipronil and not the usual dose rate that is given to dogs/cats in flea prevention). It is classed as a Possible Human Carcinogen based on the studies done on rats. Constant exposure is the worry and there was a warning issued in 1996 regarding the Frontline spray product to all pet groomers and veterinarians who would be exposed at a far greater level than the public as there is a greater chance of inhalation and absorption of the product through the skin at increasing doses with these professions. The most common side effect seen with Frontline Plus application is skin irritation at the point of application. However there have been reports of animals that are allergic to Fipronil, and these animals will react violently to the product.
rash is a side effect, but I have not had any such problems and it is the ONLY thing that effectively kills severe cases of fleas.
However, you should be sure you are using the correct dosage for your size dog. Even if you are, you may try using the smaller version, and spead it further down the back than usual.
