The people in Capac were Sheldon and Ruth Snell. I haven't seen them in a long time now and they would certainly be getting well up in age if still with us. I saw thier daughter Ruthanne and Grandson at the Millington shot clinic this spring with a couple of thier dogs so I would guess the races are still being held. Seems like it was the Michigan Field Trailers Assoc.. They're kinda the last of thier breed for what was really big back when I was born in the 40's. Don't know many of the younger ones but those old timers lived and breathed dogs and did alot of hunting to besides racing on the weekends. I spent hundreds of miles standing up in the front seat between mom & dad playing "what kinda car is that" going to these races as a kid. The Greyhounds were filtered into what we now call grade dogs later on in the search for more speed but they lost alot of the tree in the process and gained nastiness until now muzzles are required on all entrys, at least here in Michigan.
dale
