LED light vs. conventional light ?
Was wondering if anyone has tried the LED lights? They have those that use 2 or three AA batteries and have anywhere from 1 to 75 led's. Just wondering what the pros and cons were verses the conventional wheat light head with other batteries. I think nite lite also has a led head also. I have seen a light with 1 led and it seemed pretty bright so you would think with 75 led's it would be super brite. So if any of you have tried them please let me know what you concluded. Thanks in advance. JONAH

Save your money on the Nite Lite
If you read the fine print about the description, it says where a bright light is not needed. The dim side lights the center led only. Click to bright and the outside lights come on. They are about as bright as the low side of a 5100 turned up. The problem I have is the led's are recessed back in the reflector and doen't flood very well. If you want to look at your watch, you have to raise your wrist up to eye level to see what time it is. Also, the light doesn't light the ground where you are placing your feet. I need all the help I can get as far as keeping from stumbling in the dark. I haven't been out with someone using the Blazer head, but have heard mixed reviews.

I bought one of the Nite Lite LED Heads. It was not worth the money that I spent. Not bright at all.I would not recommend it to anyone.
I have heard that the Blazer head is very bright, but for $199 I will have to stick with the 5100 head. jmo...

The led lights are more for general purpose. I carry one of the headband type led lights in my pocket as a spare in case my light goes out or has any problems. The led is bright enough to walk with or see to change a bulb with but thats about it. Also the blazer super 21 head is not led's. The bulbs in them are a type of bulb that was developed by the military and blazer has been allowed to use them in coon hunting lights. I asked that question to a blazer light salesman at Autumn Oaks and he was quick to let me know that they werent led's.

btt Thanks to all that have answered
I like the regular lights better. Mag-lite has switched over the LED and I use a Mag-lite for police work. I like the regular beam better.
I hope Nite-Lite doesn't change to the LED bulbs.
