Is there a link between shocking young dogs for barking and them loosing their mouth?
I have raised several young dogs in the past that barked a lot in the kennel so I shocked them and almost everyone of them lost their mouth by a year old. I know it can’t be genetics because I have tried several different bloodlines. I think shocking them does something to their vocal chords. Anybody else have this problem?

Do they loose their mouth because they get shocked or because they bark so much? It would be hard to tell. Most dogs that bark a lot in the yard lose their mouth even when you don't shock them. You would have to shock a dog that didn't bark a lot in the kennel and see if it lost it's mouth.
yep
I shock mine only when they get after neighbors Chickens !

Take Richard's advise and train your dogs to retrieve those chickens. Fried chicken tastes mighty good as I am sure you know being a old Kentucky boy. Dave

So is anyone willing to take a young dog with a big mouth and just shock them a bunch of times to see if it hurts their mouth?
