News

There is a new Fireball guy in South Western Virginia. Coming to a hunt near you. He is new to the redbone game but has picked up a couple nice ones. He has one off Gr Nt Pigeon River Jim, one off of Danno and one off of Gr Nt Terry's Lightning and speed Queen. He has been in the competition game a while and knows what it takes to win. Folks will be finding out soon enough.

Let the games begin!

Just what does it take to win? And will he be at ARCA or is that too soon? But thanks for the warning.

Richard

This dang Redbone thread has been downright boring for about a year or so. I guess most people like myself have just stayed away from chatter going on here. But I always like sparring with you. So here goes.. If I need to tell you after all these years what it takes to win, I think you might have to go back to the beginning and start over. Where I first saw you, I think that was at the first Southern Redbone Days. You were showing dogs. Can't remember the year. So just in case you don't know, I will fill you in. #1 Must have the right dog. One that is loud enough to be heard above other dogs, one that goes hunting fast, not standing around peeing on bushes or sniffing other dogs. One that trees fast and stays put and has the meat. Not a me too dog and can split tree and be accurate. A good dog can make up for a bad handler,,,sometimes. #2 Given the right opportunities when not competition hunting. Hunting in a good coon population helps. Taken frequently enough to gain confidence. #3 Handler knows the rules and will not be bullied in a cast.If we have to back to the master of hounds we go back. My saying is this." I ain't gonna win, but he ain't gonna win either by cheating." Well Richard, I am sure you might have something to add. Who knows, I might even delete this post in a day or two. I surely thought you would come up with some other smart alleck remark about them Fireball dogs though. By now you surely must know what a good dog is or you would not have bred to one of those Fireballers. Take care, Maybe I will see you at Holmsville. Luke.

yep

Man, I didn't want to give Richard to much. He will go into Fireball overload. But yes. I believe a pup is coming.

I have a pup off of Jim but Rex told me that Jim was Rusty Red bred. Do you mean that I have a Fireball pup?

???

You won 't know till you see them hunt… It's like thinning down paint. Pretty soon there is no paint left.
