Tennessee hog hunting

I will be down in pigeon forge tennessee in July. I was wondering if anyone knows a good outfitter or public ground to hunt. Any information is helpful. Thanks

East Tennessee pigs

Ain't to many pigs around the East Tennessee area.... Might find you a outfitter to put you on one in a fenced in lot !!!! Need to go farther south to get in pigs

There are plenty of hogs in Tennessee, at least in middle/eastern Tennessee. Problem is they have made it illegal to hunt them and run them with dogs.

Land owners can give a permit for up to 10 people to kill hogs on their land but the DNR thinks that hunters turning them loose caused the problem so they stopped hunting.

There are something like 5 counties that are allowed to run hogs with dogs I think Cumberland and Roane may be two of them, I know Cumberland is, not sure about Roane.

My uncle has tons of pigs on his property in White county but the green britches won't let us dog because if they go off his property our permits are void. It's plenty easy to kill the stinking things without dogging but the dogs is what makes it fun.

They may not be a big problem in East Tennessee yet but on the Cumberland Plateau they are everywhere and destroying everything.

Ya like I said you should probably go south or west from pigeon forge about an hour or so to get into some real good hog population.... There is a few around East Tennessee but not like those places.... But I hear their coming !

I don't know anything about the hog hunting or population in East Tennessee, but they are going to be everywhere in a few years.

There are a few up in here in Northern Middle Tennessee. I haven't seen any hogs. I've heard people have been seeing a few, but like I said, I have yet to see one.

It's a matter of time and they'll be like armodillas. I remember when there NO armodillas, then rare sightings to you see them and don't think anything about it.

I can remember growing up as a boy in East Tennessee if you seen a deer you talked about it for weeks. If you seen a coon track in the mud on a creek bank you stomped it out so know one knew there was a coon around.... Then you hunted there every night !!! Now you can sometimes tree several coon a night with a mediocre dog. Also have a deer population that is unreal. My son and I drove around last night just checking fields and seen over 80 deer 4 opossum at least 10 rabbits and 2 coon cross the road... We now have black bear and yoats like crazy and wild turkey with as many as 50 or 60 in a flock.. Where did all this game come from ? If I would have had this much game to hunt and trap as a kid I would have run myself crazy.. Now we have pigs and dillows headed this way... What next ??? I looking for the return of the buffalo !!!! Lol ya never know !!!!
