High Scoring Dog of the Year/Handler of the Year/ Show Dog of the Year
Looking for some insight on these, paid member only incentive programs?
Does any club out there do stuff like this to help boost membership numbers and have success? I'm assuming with the Show Dog of the Year award, it would have to be determined by a ODD number of events to eliminate a tie. What works best for your club?
Thanks

My local club has member incentive hunts, you get a set amount of points for hunting the certain nights, then if you win that night you get more points and at end of the year the handler with most points gets 500 cash i think it is

We do this at our local $kc hunts: 2 hunts /month except Dec.- 22 total for year.
1- $20 entry fee for year. Keep track of every hunt on poster board.
2- Get pts. for each cast entered. 4 pts if cast winner, 3 pts if 2nd in cast, 2 pts if 3rd in cast, 1 pt if 4th in cast.
3-Everyone that enters gets club cap, sweatshirt or tee shirt.
4- Winner gets new hunting jacket & garmin system.
5- 2nd gets new shocking system.
6- 3rd got new garmin collar.
7- 4th got new no-bark collar
Other prizes can be used for whatever you want to use. Have given new 22 rifle as 1 of top prizes or gave several leashes/collars down to 10th place, whatever club can afford or prizes you can get donated. Seems to keep interest up & people coming back. Take care, Ron.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Keep em coming
Doug I've been piecing together this idea and I finally brought it to attention at the last member meeting. Our home club is struggling to stay afloat and I strongly believe the member incentive program I'm going to present at the February 2017 meeting is going to help a ton. I've been busting my butt working on the finishing touches these past few days. I'll show you in private some day a print out of what I have almost ready to present, but won't go public with it till after the February 2017 meeting,.... That's as if it is indeed approved and voted in. Which I don't see why it wouldn't be
Our club was ranked 5th in the State in 2006, I'd like to get us back to those high entry numbers again same day soon

We have a one hour hunt after every monthly meeting. Keep scores 35 for first 20 for second 10 for third and 5 for fourth. If one cast all 4 dogs get points. Then end of year we have a final four cast. Prizes are donated and bought and presented at our annual Christmas party.
