-- Question for all my KY Friends? lol (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928445691)
Question for all my KY Friends? lol
I was scanning channels last night and on a Major TV Station I heard on reporter mention they were not calling the State of KY for any Presidential candidate yet. He went on to say the Educated Counties haven't reported. Anyone want to go out on a limb and say what counties are educated and which ones are not? I have never heard a State claim to have uneducated counties. I know I live in a poor county of FL but never heard anyone call these poor people uneducated. Heck we have learned to do a lot with little.
Anyone know the coonhound population in the educated vs uneducated counties. Maybe they associated education with the number of hounds tied on the mountain side.
dna
your pushing the envelope with this one Bruce!! now your Getting in to my DNA!! lol

I wonder where Hazard County falls in there? Weren't the Dukes pretty educated? I don't know about Boss Hogg, though. Wasn't he an elected official? What about "Raylin" and "Boyd Crowder"? What about "Turtleman"? Television has not been very kind to Kentucky. Maybe those newscasters have been watching too much television.
Louisville station, they think they are better than us Country Folk. That's why most People out of Louisville can't stand anything in or about Louisville.

I'm a transplant to Ky, been here since 96. I guess they are speaking of Jefferson, Warren, Davies, Marshall, Lexington area, Frankfort, as being the educated areas. Lol. I am from Muhlenberg county Ky. I love it here. Love the people. As far as being educated I guess we are as educated as anyone else since the government dictates what is being taught in our schools.

I guess that I got Harlin County confused with Hazard County. A friend of mine was the teacher in the last one room schoolhouse in Kentucky. He is from Hi Hat, Ky and has his own CD of coonhunting songs that he wrote.
In Tennessee, they call anyone that lives in the Northeastern counties a "hillbilly" and expect that you know what they are talking about, even though The University of Tennessee is located there. But then their mascot is a Bluetick named Smoky. "Uneducated" does sound a little more educated than "hillbilly". Afterall you can remedy uneducated with a little education but everyone knows that there is no cure for "hillbilly".
