Garmin Alpha question

I recently bought a new system just to upgrade nothing wrong with my old unit. The problem i am having is the shocking of the tt15. I updated like the paper in box told me to and the system is on traditional. I have never had to crank the old system up to high setting but if i get dogs attention now new system has to be wide open. The collar is set in same hole and prongs touching plenty tight to work. I had decided this pup was just the toughest i ever messed with but tonight i used my old trash breaker on him just to see. Level 3 is all it took to get his attetion. Can someone please let know what might be the problem. Both new collars have same results on the dog. I aint too smart on this electronic stuff but i know i got a problem.

Yes i know thats who i buy ll my garmin stuff from. I got my wife on it afterall she is the brains of the house anyway. She just got my collars updated or at least the computer said they are. I will know next time i hunt if that cured the problem because im sure one of my potlickers will have to try and get away with something. Thanks....

.

Mr. James after reading what you have posted I would swap to the longer prongs and leave the collar tightness where it is. The Garmin receiver is about 3 ounces heavier than the regular tracking collar and that has to be taken into consideration when adjusting collar as the weight holds it off the dogs neck.

Thanks Bruce i will check the prongs but like i said collar was plenty tight for short to make contact at all times. Maybe updating the collars will take care of it. Thanks again

It could possibly just be the collar unit. I have two TT10's bought at same time and I can use one of them on 3 or 4 and get their attention and the other one has to be on 10-12. You can tell it just by having them in your hand and listening to them. You can hear the buzz on the one with black collar a lot better than the other one.
