questions on garmins in a hunt
Ok, so last hunt i was on the guys was holding there Garmin's in there hand watching them while dogs was hunting... Is this legal?
I know some of them has the beep on when they fall on tree...
Will they allow it at the big hunts.
thanks
Stacy thompson
You have to have all the allerts turned off. As far as everybody holding them in they're hand goes I do believe it is legal but that's something I myself think UKC should write into the rules that your NOT to look at it until everybody is standing together and it's agreed on that it's time to look to see where the dogs have gone but that's JMO.
Sure, you can look at it all you want. Just turn off audible alerts so other can't hear it. You can't call a dog off of the Garmin no matter what info you gain from it. The dog still must be heard by the judge before a call can be accepted.
I think it should be allowed at all times especially if I'm in unfamiliar territory. I think too much of my dog to have him get in a bad situation as he like to get by himself. Example roads etc...
thanks for info...
I thought tracking units were to be turned off during hunt time

you can't carry in on position a system that shocks, tones or controls dogs. "in other words a system that tracks dogs only"
