Cowles Jesse Lee X Boyd's Missy "Nut"

Last night was a great night with both my young dogs and it got down to 9 degrees when we made our last tree and we had coon at every tree. Update for you on Nut. Nine month old Nut's 5th night in the woods and fith coon. He hunts real good with the dogs, has been opening on track a little and treeing a little with dogs before I get there and real good after I get there. Loud squal on track hard chop on tree with pretty bawl locate that I heard for the first time last night. He is coming along good. A guy came out of his house last night we treed about 100 yards from and he said man that one dog is loud. It was Nut.

At the time Missy was bred Jesse Lee was not a ss sire he is now for 2013 and the last half of 2012 but I don't know if any of them were ss or if they could be being born when they was not sure how that would work with pkc.

Mine were born May 12th, 2012 and I had to pay $200 to SS the litter because J-Lee was not a SS sire at the time.

It was another good night with both the young dogs. One of them is a bit off color for you but I bet you would still like him. He took a lot of work and is a little bit man made in a way I guess you could say but he packs a whole lot of good coondawg tools. Way more nose than I had thought at first and learning to use it really really good now. I'm just telling you because it surprises me so much. I never experienced a dog quite like him before. One that started so mediocre that took so much correcting but it paid off so big. I have not seen many like that, have you? Something just told me to stick it out with him. Here is an update on Nut. He treed his first coon. He split treed and had it and left the old dog setting empty. Don't get too excited because he ain't all that. At least not yet but it was good too see and a step in the right direction.

Good dog is a good dog regaurdless what breed it is!!! Oh I've had tough times with several that ended up real nice most people wont put that much work in one they want it now and fast every goodone I've ever owned I would get almost ready to quit on it then it would do something to make me give it one more chance then all of a sudden they would start coming around and seeing things my way I am very demanding on them as long as they got the tools but if they dont then they wont last long for me I have a very certain way they have to opperate for me or they don't stay I know whats worked for me in the past and wont except anything less looks how hard they tree type of mouth (as long as I can hear them good and tell when they are hooked) ect is very low on the pole for me if you get it great but the tools is most important to me the natural ability to win shut dogs out consistantly win casts anywhere your at take tracks as they come hunt like hell cover ground fast looking for a coon not running off not looking for just one kinda coon so they can look good on it ect stuff like that I see that in one and they will get my attention then the rest is up to me to get it out of them is how I always looked at it I always figured I was the trainer and it was my job to train them once I found out what made them click every dog is diffrent..Sounds like your pup definately is something to work with.Thanks for the update and good luck with your pup hope all your work pays off..Please keep me posted on him..
