Question for all you breeders?????????

Typically when a dog shows she has milk how long before the puppies come? I havent raised a litter in a while(4yrs)and am a little rusty. She is due on the 23rd being 63 days from the day she was bred.

WELL...

I DONT KNOW IF WE COULD BE CONSIDERED BREEDERS, BUT IT COULD BE...ANYWHERE FROM 2 DAYS TO A WEEK.

EVERY FEMALE IS DIFFERENT. SO EVERYONE WILL PROBABLY HAVE DIFFERENT THINGS.

BUT WITH TINY AND SKEETER, BOTH WERE BETWEEN 7-10 DAYS FROM THE TIME YOU COULD SQUEEZE MILK OUT TO THE TIME THEY HAD THE PUPS. WE KEPT A CHECK ON THEIR MILK, AND THEN ABOUT 2 DAYS BEFORE BOTH OF THEM HAD THEIR PUPS, THE MILK CAME OUT REALLY EASY.

A FEW REAL KEY SIGNS:

YOU'LL NOTICE HER BELLY HANGING REALLY LOW A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE SHE HAS THEM AS THE PUPS COME BACK INTO THE BIRTH CANAL.

YOU'LL NOTICE HER DIGGING, SCRATCHING MAKING A BED.

USUALLY, WITHIN 24 HRS OF HAVING THE PUPS, MOST FEMALES WONT EAT. IF SHE EATS, SHE WONT EAT MUCH.

YOU MAY NOTICE THAT HER VAGINA SWELLS ABOUT 24 HRS BEFORE BIRTH TOO.

LISTEN FOR HER TO START WHINING, PANTING, PACING. ALL KEY SIGNS THAT LABOR IS STARTING.

THEN JUST KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON HER SO AS SHE DOSENT HAVE ANY TROUBLES.

WE WERE WORRIED TO DEATH WITH TINY'S LITTER TOO. IT HAD BEEN ABOUT 4 YEARS, BUT AFTER IT WAS ALL OVER, IT WAS NOT THAT BIG! LOL. THE MAMA DOG SHOULD DO MOST OF THE WORK, AND THANK GOODNESS TINY AND SKEETER WERE EXCELLENT MOTHERS!!!

when her temp drops below 100 she will have them in 24 hours or less

She hardly ate today and is swelled but still acts like herself LOL

Anything from 59 to 66 days is normal. Sixty three days is just the average.

I just had a female who went 60 days.
