At what age do most of u let pups go and what age to give shots

Whene is a good age to let pups go they been totally off the bitch since 3 weeks eat and drinking good and what age to give shots thx Dave

usually 5 or 6 weeks depends how they're eating by their selves. they should have their shots as soon as they are taken away from their mother.

I keep puppies until they are 7 weeks old to make sure they get the proper socialization. As for the shots, follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

I typically get a brand that has a 5 week old shot and follow-up with 7, 9, and 12 week shots. Don't give lepto shot before 12 weeks.

First thing ive realized is alot of people dont know how to raise and take care of pups...I like keeping them a little longer...10-12 weeks

The pups I have gotten early don't seem to do as good as pups that are 10 to 12 weeks old. I think everyone should keep them until 10 to 12 weeks.

puppy shots:

If the mother is healthy and been recently vaccinated and all shots up to date,the pups are good until they are around 6 weeks old.
If you give them a shot before that time,say 3 weeks, you kill the mothers immunities she has givin them.And then they are surviving on the shot,and that can be risky.
They will be fine if mama has nursed them, and she is healthy, and up to date on her shots.
Make sure it is a puppy shot, and not an adult.

8 weeks old is a good benchmark age to keep your pups till. At 8 weeks of age they have had plenty of time to be properly socialized and weaned. As long as the mother is healthy and is making plenty of milk to keep the pups up; your better off leaving the pups on her for as long as she will have them. Depending on the size of the litter and the amount of milk the female is able to make I usually like to start supplementing them at around 5 weeks old. At this age I still like for nursing to be the primary source of nutrition but supplementing them with a quality milk replacer will help the mother and the pups. By week 7 I will introduce a quality puppy food usually moistened with a little milk or water. At this stage I discontinue the milk replacer but still leave the pups on their mother. This will start the weaning process and should be well on their way to being completely weaned. By week 8 you'll probably be so broke from feeding your growing pups that you'll be ready to give them away but by now they should be fully weaned and ready for dry puppy food and a good home. You will have much healthier pups if you'll just wean them a little bit slower and keep them a little bit longer; they'll be much better socialized and a whole lot less stressed. Stress on a pup can cause negative long term effects, it can cause one to be anything from shy and timid to aggressive. Things like weaning a pup or separating one at too early can all cause stress on a pup. I'm not trying to be an expert or sit here tell you that your method of doing things is wrong but I will say this is what has worked the best for me and I think that the majority of the experienced reputable breeders out there will tell you the same thing. There is no magic number or any one right way to raise a pup but just let mother nature have her way and don't try rushing things.

Shots are a whole other can of worms but 8 weeks old is a good time to start considering vaccination. Most reputable veterinarians will recommend you wait until the pups are at least 8 weeks old. This is because the mother's antibodies passed along to the pup through the placenta and the first milk(colostrum) will override the vaccine. The whole purpose of the vaccine is to cause the host to be infected by it, causing the pup to build it's own antibodies and resistance to the virus. If the mother's antibodies are fighting off the vaccine then its doing the pup no good and it's as if you never gave the pup a shot at all. Here again slow and steady wins the race. When it comes to shots you want to wait until the pups immune system is weakened and working on its own before you vaccinate. This gives the pups immune system a chance to fight the virus for itself therefore building immunity and resistance to the virus.
