Hound with ear problems

I got a walker about three years old that shakes her head some and have had her to the vet and they blamed food allergies. I think she scratches at them and that may compound the problem as well. I am treating her again right now for mites but do not think that is the problem. I have heard of ear canker powder and thought that might dry them out and help to heal. They are not very dirty and do not have much if any odor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Andy

Where are you located? I know a man in Oklahoma that makes "the best ear medicine I've ever used."

I am in northwest North Dakota where it is cold enough to freeze the ears off a hound today!

sweet oil will work an you dont have to put it in the ear but one time

ear trouble

My blue dog has always had trouble with one ear. Two vets have said it is similar to a womans yeast infection because they are flop eared dogs & the ear is always moist, don't get enough air to dry them out.For a long time I used a homemade solution of 1 part rubbing alcohol mixed with 3parts white vinegar. That was vet suggested ! Now I buy stuff from the vet called ZYMOX Otic Enzymatic Solution. Works good but kind of pricey . GOOD LUCK!! IF she is having food allergy problems my vet said the most common problem is the corn GLUTENS , check your food & switch if that's in there !
