He needs some socialization, and training, not shooting. Your local kennel club usually have cheap or free dog classes. Talk to them, they should be able to help you.

A dog that is just aggressive over the food bowl, doesn't mean they are going to be a mean or aggrissive dog. Heck, I'll growl atcha if you mess with my plate.

Yeah, I can't feed my dogs together, or they will get growly and act up. Other then that, they aren't mean at all. Just feed him separately.

He is young, just break him from it. First feed him enough that he isn't real hungry. Then feed them about 3' apart and stand there with a peice of 1" heavy wall PVC and when he tries to fight grap him by the collar or neck and whip him. Then put him back in front of his food. If he eats pet him and if he wants to fight show him you are better at it than he is. Take the leadership place in the pack. They eat becouse you let them and they don't jump on any member of your pack. You have to be the boss and some times it takes a strong hand. You have to have there respect and the only way you get it is demand it. Then you will have no problems.

my dogs will let our cat come up too em and eat with em,it took the dogs a while to get used to it,but they let the cat warm up to em,it's wierd, but it's also cool,i don't have to worry about em killin him,or any other dog messin with him they treat him like he's a dog and the cat quit swellin up and hissin at em too.

Grady thats excellent advise, reminds me of a memory i have from the Kenton national back in the 70s. A fella had a pack o blueticks all in one big pen, probably a dozen dogs give or take and while i was looking them over he was feeding them. 3 pans of feed set around and never a growl, The owner stood and watched and i noticed he was holding a cattle prod in case anyone got out of line. The moral is if they are taught to share their food they will probably share a tree.
