Ukc Staff

I have a pup here at my house that I need my UKC papers on.
Here's the story:
I sold her in May to a fellow from Illinois. He wrote me a bad check on her. He sent her permanent UKC papers off and got them back. After the bad check came back on him, I went and reposessed my pup. He gave me her PKC papers but said he had lost her UKC papers. He does not answer the phone, wont cooperate and it is going to be impossible for me to do anything with him to send anything in.
WHAT DO I NEED OT DO TO GET PAPERS ON MY PUP?????
Thanks,
Jonathan Warrington

Yowsers! When you repossessed the dog did you do it legally? If so, just send us copies of the police reports and we can run it past our attorney here to see what we can do for you.

Do you have the UKC number? Let me check it to make certain he transferred the dog in his name. If he didn't you may apply for duplicate papers as you would be the last owner on file.

I do not have her UKC #. I reposessed her. I didnt go through the police. They wrote me a bad check, she was still mine. There is no way for me to get the UKC # because he lost the papers. I may can get her sire and dam's UKC #'s if that would help. I do know where all the toehr pups are at.

Why don't you give me your name, the name of the dog when you owned it, the breed of the dog and the name of this person you sold the dog to. I might be able to find the dog's record that way.

Her name: I never sent her puppy papers off.
Breed: Treeing Walker
Name of person I sold her to: Tom Blackwood (possibly in Blackwood/Blackwood)

Her Sire's name is Wipeout Zack.
Her Dam's name is Wild Sally.
Thanks.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Jonathan!

You mean to say you bought the dog and sold it without registering it in you name? If this is the case, I can't help you at all because you cannot establish any evidence of a legal right to the dog. That's why it's so very important to register the dog in your name.

I didnt buy her!!!! I was teh breeder, raised her from a puppy and sold her with puppy papers! Nothing you can do? I guess I need to make another trip up North.

Jonathan,

No need for us to argue. You never said you were the breeder, only that you didn't register the dog in your name. You can give me the UKC number from your Breeder's Record. Just look on that sheet we sent you when we sent your puppy papers. It lists all the UKC numbers of the pups and hopefully, you filled in to whom you sold the dog. Then give me the number of the pup. I can see if the gentleman you sold the dog to permanently registered the dog in his name. If not, you can apply for duplicate papers. If he did, then there really is nothing I can do as it is a civil matter and must be handled in courts. I'm sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear. Unfortunately, there is no police report or court decision when you repossessed the dog.
