Bear Claw Necklace

Does anyone have any info on how to make a bear claw necklace? I have the claws cut off and cleaned but when I cleaned them the inside clawed pulled out of the shells? Of course the outside shell is black but the inside claw is white, any ideas on what to do? Should I glue them back together and start from there?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!!

Thanks - Jason Hunt

when ours slip out like that and the nail shells completly hollow instead of trying to glue the bone back in when stick the claws shells into a piece of styrofaom old cooler piece etc upright and fill them with a good strong epoxy level to the top and leave them upright till they dry completly before we remove them from the styrofoam sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times filling them to they are completly full of the epoxy then when they are good and dry you can drill the hole for the necklace string hope this helps you some

Bone.

Is the complete bone on the end of the claw? Or did you cut them flush? Usually you can just take A small drill and drill through. Most of the time you will have to eye ball it A little and drill from either end, If you are drilling through the bone base. If you have cut it flush then epoxy will be good. And I would suggest putting some clear coat on the outside as the claw will eventually start to dry out and flake unless worn consistently. Other then that you can talk to A jeweler about getting it capped with silver or what have you and they can put A chain loop in the cap.
