I would have to say that about every cross imagineable has already been tried. If they would have worked , everyone would have them.

Please dont take offense to this but I would put him on a scale before you tell to many folks he's 115lbs. This is a pic of "PR" B-4U's Tiny. he's 115 on two differnt Vets scales. Thats my decoy Chris and he's 6'"1" and 225lbs. And Ty hammers him in a bite suite. He's retiered from catchin hogs, but he has around 300 to his name.

Bear dogs....

There's a lot of people around here that use bulldog and/or pit
crosses on hounds. The ones I've seen don't have the ability to hang on a track that lasts over 30 minutes and then when they
do make a tree you have to worry about dog fights. If you make
a successful cross you'll be the first....and that might just be the
case. Good luck!!!

There's always certain to be an exception to every rule, but in my opinion, this cross would not gain you anything. The traits of the bulldog that make them favorable to other utilitarian purposes would not only not be beneficial for bear hunting, but they would prove to be liabilities.

I would have to agree with every one, I have crossed AB's with Catahoulas and hounds, and they make great hog dogs but I dont think they would be an asset to your pack of bear dogs, I have never had a problem with dog fightin, so if ya raise him right he's not gonna fight, I have two four year old males kenneled together and have never had a problem, and I can stick any of my AB's in any dog box with strange dogs the only way there gonna fight is if another dog jumps on'em, and reat asured a AB will end it real fast. One thing you have to rember, AB's have the ability to kill another dog one on one, so you have to make sure he dont want to fight.

There is a guy that has one that is a 1/4 and some dogs out of it that are a 1/8. The 1/8 AB can stay with the track better but there dads is a good bear dog. If you just need more grit look for it in a hound would be easier.
