50 Years ~ Nance Bred ~ Walker Days

Over fifty years ago a dog named Knott's Ace won the First National Treeing Walker Days. He was sired by White River Boone, the first World Champion Treeing Walker, owned by Lester Nance.

Friday night a dog named Handsome Demon (Big D) won Walker Days. His mother was born in Lester Nance's basement.

Congratulations Mr. Bellar and Mr. Engle.

Lester would be proud.

I know another man that would be proud. Llyod Wells. Handsome Deamon's Dad was a dog named Big, whom I owned and should have never sold, Big came walking upto me at Lloyd Wells house when he was just 6 weeks old, Big was out of blood line that One of only few dogs that can say they won a world hunt back to back and that was UCHA World Champion Tree Talking Bama in 1987 and 1988 by the same handler Harvey Joe Whitaker. Congrats on the BIG Walker Days winning, I love to see Russell Bellar back at it.

Hey Brad. Missed you at Walker Days this year, Hope everyone is doing fine.

Wasn't Big a littermate to Salt Creek Kiss dog? I can't remember.

Take care.

Hey Kip, yea Big, Kiss, Tango, Lady Di, Lazarus, and Reese, all coon dogs, I have a pup named Ms. Piggy out of Tango. I think its neat to know that the mother of Big D was born in Lesters Kennels and the Father of Big D was born in Lloyd Wells kennels. As far as doing fine, my mind is so far from coonhunting its not even funny. Congrats on your win.
