? about Alpha

Been annoyed for awhile on my Alpha b/c it is smarter than I am. When I am at the map screen watching my dogs track, and I go to touch the screen to follow my dog I keep getting this stupid marker with a big red circle at the top of the marker. How do I turn that feature off?? Thanks.

I asked garmin the same thing about the stupid flag that pops up when you touch the screen. They told me that it was normal. I wish they would come up with an update to fix that...

Its a marker pin. All you have to do is hit the back button and it goes away. It is a handy tool if you want to mark a spot a pup is treed, or find the distance to a road or landmark from where you are at. It is not something that can be taken off.

I know but its annoying to hit the back button all the time. If wanted to mark a tree a would just go thru the menu and put a marker on it....

.

Try touching the screen firmer. Touch it lightly and the pin comes up touch it firmly and most times it won't. Practice, Practice, Practice. lol Have a nice day.

I agree that you should be able to turn the pin off as it is touchy.

I agree it can be a pain. However don't hit the back button because then you have to start scrolling over. When it pops up, at the top right corner of the screen hit the x and it will take it off.
