Crossbred ?

Will we ever be allowed to show our crossbreds in the shows?

I think UKC's stance is no, since there isn't a breed standard for them.

crossbred

If we can hunt them in the hunts then i think we should be able to show them in the shows. If they need a breed rep and assc. then i would be willing to start one. I believe a breed standard would be easy enough to establish. Work with us on this!!

In my opinion if the dam and sire are UKC registered coonhounds, then there shouldn't be an issue. The breed standard would be easy " coondog".

May be a little to easy but in theory I agree . If u take away the color for each breed there's not enough difference to make a difference . Being crossbred they could be any color and be houndy or racy as most of the breeds have some of each and while maybe not perfect very few are thrown out for a complete failure of the breed standards .

Now why in the world would a cross breeder want a breed standard the only standards i can see being followed would be bite and legs you would have a hard time with color, ear set or length, feet coat coarse or fine . if you want to follow breed standards there are already 7. And im gonna go out on a limb here and guess the reason you would crossbreed is for a hunting dog not one to show am i wrong? I guess i have a hard time understanding this whole thing.
