Coon bites

New to coon hunting as of this year. My dog had a fight with a coon last night. She won but she got bit in the ear. She's a Black and Tan. Where the teath marks are pus comes out and her ear it thick and swollen. What would u guys do? She has all her shots. Thanks. Thomas

Clean it with paroxide , put some sort of anti biotic cream on it and may give a very small shot of penicillin . If new to hunting might wanna find someone or a vet for the shot , doesn't take much pencillin depending on weight of hound .

Do you think the penicillin can wait till tomorrow? She got bit last night. Thanks for the reply.

Yea , should be ok I would think . Iam no doctor by no means but I try to do as much as I can cause vet bills can get into your wallet quick .

Coon bite

Without being able to see it, it's hard to say. But I'd just let it heal on its own. Might put some cream on it or penicillin if you've got it.

shoot the coon out dead and you won't have this problem

Thanks for the tips guy, really appreciate it. And the coon was on the ground when she caught it, never made it to the tree before she caught it and killed it.
