my oldest boy called said he seen a coon along the road side running in circles it came out in the road he stopped didnt want to run over it started running in circles in the middle of the road again then went over the hill by the road i told him shold run him over dont think it would have rabies this time of yr but dont know

Distemper and rabies have very similar symptoms. Drunkeness is one of them.

Did you think about maybe the coon had been hit and was dazed?
My son stoped to get a dead deer out of the road one night and it was still alive. It finally got up and staggered around for awhile before it seemed to get straightened out and took off in the woods. It took 15/30 minutes or more.

didnt really think about it being hit by a car but a coon usally aint out at 2 pm in the afternoon around here unless they near straving or sick like i think this 1 was but like i say i didnt see it so i cant really say
