swallowing pieces of pvc
I have a 1yr old english I put up in a kennel the other night when I went hunting. Well that kennel was one of my wife's kennel that she keeps her boxer in and I did not notice the piece of pvc that was in there. my hound aparently chew on it and swallowed some cause I notice pieces in her stool last night and it had a jelly form to it. Do u think this is something I need to worry about. She seemed to eat o.k. and acted like she felt fine.
Keep an eye on her. It sounds like she chewed it small enough that she is passing it. Watch for vomit, diarreah, loss of appetite. I think she'll be ok.

Thanks for the reply's and help, I know dogs will eat some wierd things and i have had some mutts eat stuff that I thought would surely kill um( but a no account can get by with alot more than a good dog). I was worried about sharp objects maybe cutting the inside of her stomach. Thanks alot again and I will surely keep an eye on her.
I JUST GOT TO THINKING ABOUT IT AND I HAVE GOT PVC SHAVINGS IN MY EYES AT WORK AND IT SET THEM ON FIRE. SO I KNOW IT MIGHT SET A BELLY ON FIRE.

put a bunch of mineral oil down the dogs throat with a turkey baster. I had a dog eat a chunck of mud flap once and the vet filled him full of mineral oil so he could pass it thru the system better......if he gets feverish give him penicillin asap....

To add to what others have said.... watch the stool, how the dog is eating and drinking. I would say 7 days of eating, with no throwing up, and producing normal color of stool the dog should be fine. The minute the dog doesn't eat... take the dog to the vet!! I had a dog chew a large black kong up and swallow small pieces. He threw up a bunch of pieces and I thought he was ok
2 days later he threw his food up and had not produced a stool. Being ignorant I did not see the signs. 2 days later I took him out for exercise and he acted fine. He finally produced a very dark stool. I thought ok this dog is ok. The next morning he was dead due to blockage.
