Houndsmen Deluxe Diamond Plate ????

Who has one of the Houndsmen Deluxe dog boxes that are completly diamond plate? Are you satisfied with it or do you wish you would have bought an Owens/Unique/Diamond Deluxe?

Box.............

I bought a new one at Autumn Oaks last year, I sold it a couple of months back, I didnt like the lid, BUT, I dont like the All diamond plate, just dont think they are warm enough in very cold temps, just my thought. My next one will be made of wood with diamond trim/vents. Good luck Brandon, hows that baby doing ?..........Tim

I'm like you, Tim. I have had all Diamond plate ones before... a Diamond Deluxe and an Owens. I wasn't happy with either one. I honestly like a Houndsmen Deluxe the best. I have usually used one of those in a color. I was down at the hunting store the other day and looking at boxes and they have Houndsmen Deluxe boxes that are like what I'm used to, but are covered in Diamond plate. They are still wooden boxes. I'm thinking about going that way with a box, but they run about $100 more than one that is of a color.

My baby girl is doing good. She will be 15 months old Sunday. I'm about ready to get back to hunting like I used to... just starting to gather up some things that I need.

Hope all is well with you. You are still welcome to call me sometime when you are down this way... we can hunt one night if you get a chance.

the BEST one we have had was made by Heritage. It was really heavy, but the dogs stayed cool in summer and warm in winter. got it with back vents, made with plywood soaked with a preservative. wonderful box...better than heritage...we have a heritage now but not as happy with it. it was also custom built..48 deep, 24 tall inside, butterfly lid storage

As long as you get a box that keeps your dogs warm in the winter and cool in the summer, thats all that really matters. I have owned 2 new all diamond Owens, and the new all diamond Houndsmen.............didnt really like any of them. I think the next one is going to be a Millcreek black Diamond plate ( made of wood) with 3/4 storage...........$520 full size, tax included.
We were down in Nicholasville for a week around 1st of April, had a good time. Will get down and hunt sometime.........take care.....Tim
