My buddy bought one i think was about four months old.7months old now. Im hunting a 20 month old dog and hes a hard go er. Hes goes out one good drop with him and hes about wore out. Opens a lil on track lil on tree. Good looker and think hes gunna have a loud mouth.. But that about all i can tell u.. My other buddies have one but hes nothing spectacular and i havent hunted with him enough to tell anything. Haha this was prob no help but this all i can help.. Good luck with ur pup..
K.Short, the only tip I can give you about your Homer pup is to put him in the woods when he is old enough, he will start himself. I've been around several & had one myself & they are easy starters. The ones I've hunted with are usually accurate, loud & treeeeee-dogs. Hope this helps.
i wouldnt do nothing with him right now....just let him run loose until he starts runnin
