-- 8 minute rule (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=281941)
8 minute rule
Was on a cast last night where the judges and another cast members were struck in,they shut down and time was put on them, every few minutes the judge wanted to move ahead and listen but everytime we did this he stopped the time on the 8 and then resumed counting.when we stopped ,I questioned this and he said it was curtesy to the handlers not to keep time while walking ,I said the time should keep running.Eventually they drew minus after 18 minutes. What is the proper rule? Thanks
Once that 8 starts, the only thing that can stop it is a bark.
thankyou,I have been out of the loop for almost a decade thought maybe the rule had changed.
If you stopped the eight every time you moved to listen for them.
I 'd be moving a lot if mine were on it.. LOL
4(E) on the back of the card.

I was wondering if the guy started and stopped the 5 when your dog was treeing, while the walk in to the tree! Sounds like he was just trying to help himself out!
He sounds like one of those "extra good sportsmen" I've read about on here....

It was the Judges dog the 8 was running on right? Yep he put the screws to ya LOL...I've never heard of using that one before.. The rule says 8min..Not 8 min and 2 or even 10 sec and forsure not 18...
