I believe I read somewhere in the rulebook that if a female is a bit saggy from a pregnancy that particular characteristic shouldn't be counted against her. Be honest though-would it influence your decision? I suppose if it came down to two dogs with very similar conformation it might, but I'd love to hear the opinion of some of you who judge because I can't rightly say I've ever seen the situation come up at a show. I weaned a litter of pups last weekend, and I'm trying to get the dam ready to take to an RQE this weekend and the Bluetick Reunion the next. I've been putting Preparation H and Vick's Vapor Rub on her every day, and she has drawn up a good in the past 3 or 4 days but a couple teats are still a little full. I don't really want to take her food away from her since she's at a good weight right now, and limiting her water isn't something I really want to do either so I'm not sure what she'll be looking like this Saturday. It's not do or die for her to go this weekend, but I'm definitely ready to get her back in the ring and the woods since she's been tied up since January with this unexpected pregnancy. I'd just like to hear a couple thoughts before I pack her up and take her 3 1/2 hours to an event!

Jessica I would give her another week off and show her at the RQE on thurs. at the reunion.Plus we have a couple coming up that are alot closer then Darlington.

Troy if she's not looking decent later this week I'll probably leave her at home. I'd already planned on going down to try and get my GRCH blue girl qualified, plus I've got some friends down there I planned on visiting with. One of my girlfriends from back home in Columbia went with me to Darlington for the state show, and we had a fun road trip....I'm looking forward to another "girls' weekend" and showing off my truck with my new lift haha! Like I said it's not an absolute must that I show her there, just wanted to try and get them qualified early. If I'm going with one I may as well try to take them all haha! I didn't know the show Thursday at the reunion was an RQE...good to know. Money's tight for me after what I just spent on the truck so if Gypsy comes in heat (got my fingers crossed LOL) I may only go down on Thursday anyway.

It'll depend on the judge. If you show to a judge that is trying to find the best dog- the whole dog, It shouldn't be a problem. If you show to a judge who's looking for faults to eliminate dogs it probably will. Sagging teats on a really nice, well balance dog is better than tight teats on a sad looking dog.
