Jimmie, You were on here everyday promoting this hunt now please let those of us who could not make know who won.
Any one have the results to the MISS. State hunt?
Congrats to Davie Crockett and South Barr Wild Man on winning 1st place registered on Friday 425+ and Saturday 625+ and High Scoring Male. This is a one year old Trackman pup and he picked up 4 perf pts. Well deserved win!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't sure who won the hunt portion
but the bench show was won by Sabrina Smith of Critter Creek Kennels with a young Redbone male.
I won Opposite Sex with my treeing walker Gr. Ch. Boots. Lots of nice dogs in the show. We won Gr. Ch. female, then won against the Ch. female winner and the Reg. winner. Then lost the overall title.
We had lots of fans after the show who came up and told us what a nice hound we had and asked about her pedigree and such.
Thanks Sabrina for asking me to be in your winning picture.
Sabrina owns a littermate to Boots that she bought as a weaning pup. Check out her website for her pics of Lil Shelby.
I drew wildman Friday night with Boots and we both had 2 seperate trees. His coon on the first one was just laying on the first limb and of course mine was in a giant pinoak about 60 feet tall and still full of leaves. circle for me. On the second tree which was treed with 30 min. left to hunt, Boots treed as far as it was humanly possible to hear a dog and from where we were standing, Wildman treed about 400 yds from us in the opposite direction. I opted to let them go to Wildmans tree 1st just to see how long and how much pressure Boots could take as a 19 month old. It took us 1.5 hours to go to Wildman's tree, score it and then walk and drive the last mile or so to Boots's tree. She never missed a lick and was treeing slobber style when we pulled her away. Circle again for me and Wildman won plain and simple.
Boots didn't take a back seat to any hound on the bench or woods.
I congratulated David on having a nice hound and Sabrina for winning on the bench show. Sometimes when you have equally great hounds in the woods, luck plays a part. And on the bench, you are paying for one man's opinion.
I wouldn't have wanted to judge that show because it was full of very nice hounds who came to show. Tim Dillon did a very good job judging.
The Mississippi coonhunters Assoc. Put on a nice hunt and show.
If you didn't make it, you missed a nice event. Great Food, great accomodations and a massive and beautiful set of trophies. Nice prizes went along for the winners as well. Super nice Vendors with Timber Creek and my buddy Bob Osbarn with a full barn of supplies.
There was a youth bench show with all the younguns getting a trophy. That was nice.
Hope to have the power to win both ends of this thing next year.
Congats to all the winners at the State hunt. Thanks to the Black hawk coon hunters for a job well done on hosting the State hunt. Make plans to attend the Mississippi youth hunt (UKC) Dec 6th at Forest Ms.
