? How to train a pup

I have a 4 month old pup out of yadkin tar deacon. what should i do too make him work. besides cage coon. a little help please thank u

Haul it ever time you get a chance, try not to make it a bad experience. You may start with putting him in the dog box with a buddy for a time or two. Take some walks in the timber and introduce him to a few squirels. Turn a couple coon loose and let an older dog run and tree them, show him how the game is played.

you might want to just do your basic obediance training with him at this young an age. lead, heal ,come,load, travel and what ever else you want to make him handle good you can realy mess um up startin to hunt um to young . I say that cause I have done it . now i wait till their at least 8 months old before i do any serious training for hunting but thats not realy training its just exposeing them to the desired game you plan to hunt and if they got the stuff they will show ya pretty quick. good luck.

Id put that caged coon up for a while too, if you have already showed him the coon and he shows interest i wouldent bother him with that any more for a while unless you planed on turning it out ahead of the pup but even then id wait and let it get older , pluss id have an older dog there just to help out on any phisical confrontation if you know what i mean

If you have an older coon dog that will run and tree coon, let is start with it a little. I wouldn't pressure it to go with the older dog since it is a pup but you should be able to tell if it has what is takes to become a good dog by 8-12 months old. There kinda like a kid teach them how you want them. After all a dog is a mans best friend.
