Do you have a right to listen for your dog???

4 dog cast. Dogs A, B, C all strike and tree on the same tree in that order. Dog D is at large. After tree is scored, cast votes to call timeout. Dog D is still at large and handler was not permitted to listen by the judge before timeout was called because D was never struck. Is this correct?

The time out rule requires a reason to call time out. Acceptable reasons are listed in the rule book. So what was the reason?

It would depend on the reason for the timeout. Timeout is one of the most abused rules, in an effort to get big scores the score a quick one and move system has become very common. The short answer to your question is that if the majority vote to call timeout and dog D Hadnt been struck there is nothing he can do, he will have 1 hour to retrive his dog for the next drop.

They haft to have a ligetment reason to call time out if their is no reason i think all cast members have to agree for time out

He was treed rt beside the truck with a coon! Couldn't hear him bc timeout was called at the tree as soon as it was scored. Even though the judge never asked for a vote after dog D's handler asked, he still would have been out voted 3-1 to call timeout.

The non-hunting guide said that the cast needed to find new ground to hunt. Timeout was called after scoring 1 tree and about 24 minutes into the hunt.

Question is, is a handler allowed to request time to listen for dogs who are not struck before voting to call timeout?

Dogs must be cut back to dogs that are out, struck or not. Time out can not be called in this situation. New hunting ground don't hold water with dog still out. Page 86 advisor. If I am reading correctly.

You are misintrpreting... If dog D had been struck the procedure would have been to start the 8 on D after scoring the other dogs tree If D is heard he goes on the card for a quarter and the handled dogs must be cut loose . But since dog D hadnt been struck time out may be called either by a nonhunting judge or a majority vote of the cast for any of the reasons listed in rule 8. If dog Ds. handler didnt feel any of the requirements for a timeout were met he has the right to place a ? on the card.

Reread the scenario...They did wait until after the tree was scored to call timeout. That would be the time to do it, otherwise they are required to recast.

I used to think it was majority vote also, but it is not. I read this in the bloodlines advisor section a couple of months back. Allen brushed us up on this. You have to cuy em loose in less some kind of danger. Have to use a little commen sense.

You guys need a rule book..... It is majority vote, you are voting on weather or not the timeout meets one of the criteria reguired for a timeot listed clearly in rule #8. There are 9 acceptable reasons to call timeout.

Lets tell the whole truth and not part of the story. 1st the other 3 cast memebers agreed to call time out because the guide said we had run out of woods to hunt. 2nd your dog was never heard. He was found at your truck thanks to your garmin not due to the fact that he was treeing.
