Last Nights Hunt.

I’ve hunted Pride three times this season and he’s treed a coon on each trip. Each time I turn him loose I think this may be his last trip to the woods. I can’t say for certain that tonight was his last trip ever to the woods or not, IF he’s still in decent enough shape next Nov 2nd which is his birthday I’m pretty sure I’ll turn him loose and try my best to get him a birthday coon.

Granny was hunted the night before she passed at 12 yrs old. Last night I was setting there listening to cruiser thinking how much he is going to be like her ( hard headed lol ) people that don't raise their own dogs don't know what they miss !! I am sure you see things in all your dogs that was passed down from the ones that came before them.

Good job, my old dog turned 13 in December 2018, he still trees him a coon every time I take him [ not often these days]. Wish we could turn back the clock on both our dogs and ourselves . Lol. Dave

How old is he? If he can still get it done then keep enjoying him. Take him once a week or once a month. I take my old female at least once a week. Up until January she was hunted 4 nights a week for several years. She's still in good health and in good condition for being 10. She's not a super fast on track anymore but still gets it done pretty quickly.

Pride is 12 years old now.

I have to watch where I hunt him as he struggles to get up steep creek banks and over some of the bigger logs. I'm 99% sure next Nov 2nd on his birthday I'll turn him loose as long as he's able to.
