Immature young dogs
I have a 14 month old dog (actually a mountain cur) that hunts good and will tree his own squirrels/coon by himself. He is a very hyper dog. When I try to hunt him with other dogs he does not try to hunt at all, just play with the other dogs. Have not gotten after him with a shock collar or anything for this. Suggestions?
Hunt him. I wouldn't shock him for being a puppy.
Just hunt by himself until he grows up

Hunt him with other dogs until he gets tired of playing with them and goes back to hunting. You can't train the puppy out of him. Only time will do that.
