Help

I got a 3 year old female. I went to pick her up to try her out. I think she has been abused and neglected so I keep her. I had her here for about 2 weeks and she is warming up to me so I took her hunting and wouldn't come back to me. So I finally got her and the next day I was working her at home. I put a shocking collar on her. And it made things worse. So still when I let her loose it's hard to catch her. Does anybody have any ideal what to do. I want to keep her so she ain't got to go back to her owner.

Maybe put her on a 50 ft check cord and retrain her. Oor whistle train her.

well this is where training comes in !! have her on cord!! get ya some sausage or hot dogs and cutem up in pcs!! and call her and pull her into ya!! give her a treet!! do this every day!! always have a small lunch bag that will make a noise when you crunch on it and always reward her when ya call and she will know that you have something for her!! use something tasty!! this will not make her a good dog!! just handle well!!or it should help!!lead her around give her treets!!good luck

Get yourself an ole dummy collar,,or make one,,make sure it is about same weight and shaped about same as shock collar,,put it on dog and leave it on24/7 dog will eventually get used to it,,then you can swap collars when you hit the timber,,and it shouldn't bother her
