Question about a dogs breathing

I have a dog that gets extremely hot while treeing sometimes. The last two times I have hunted him temps were 50+ and somewhat humid.
Last night it was 65 when I went hunting. He treed 800+ yards from me. When I got to the tree he was rattling/real raspy when tried to breathe. I shot the coon out and when he grabbed the coon white foam came out, looked like the foam that used to be all over his head when he treed.

I have had him to the vet and tested for everything under the sun. I have probably spent more on his health care than my kids.

He acts fine & is in good health. He is very lean and is in great hunting shape and not a bit over weight.

I have fed everything I can get around here and don't believe it is food related. He is currently getting 2.5 cups of purina sensitive stomach (24/16) and one big scoop of K-9 superfuel. I do believe the super fuel helps.

I don't normally ask health questions on hear but curious to see what others has experienced.

just a thought but next time you go hunting try giving him a sugar cube before you go

It's just the way he trees...kinda like people sleeping or eating. Last year I went to summer oaks with this guy. He snored so loud, all night long I seriously don't know how anyone else in his house gets any sleep...not just snore, paddle his hands and run in place while snoring. Imagine sleeping, snoring loud and doing the Macarena all at the same time for 9 hours straight!!!!
Some people eat and slop food all down themselves, I got a buddy that always has spaghetti all over his face just about every day, you got a dog that slobers while he trees.

take him in and have X-rays done on his chest area. lungs and heart. I got one here and one side of his heart was in larged. I took him to vet they couldn't find any thing with a regular checkup I told her something was wrong. so she said they could do the x-rays. told her to do it. I knew something was wrong. looking at him you wouldn't even know. until he got over exerted done same thing you described. jmo

i no you said you had him checked by a vet from head to toe all though i have seen dogs do the same thing you said from heart worms and common worms both , if he is rattling and raspy when he is breathing there is a problem some where and could be a lung infection , if it is anything that is going to be a problem it will start getting worse every time you take him out , if the same vet done all the testing you may want to take him to another vet and get them to do a lung x ray and checked for all worms including heart worms , i have also seen vets miss things that they should have not and a second opinion you will no for sure ..

I have been hunting for 30 years and I'm also married to a vet one of my curs has done the same thing they get so worked up and it's warmer it causes them to over heat he is just trying to regulate his temp I'll give u a little advice next time it's hot take rectal thermometer that u buy from the drug store take his temp you will probably find his temp to be around 102-108 that's the range they start to have that reaction just FYI that's pretty close to death if they are not cooled down but they must be cooled down slow or they go into shock
