Please HELP (trainin a pup)

Hey I'm New To The Forums and just Recently Bought a Bluetick Puppy the mom an dad is Fussels Speedy Pete And Dark Blue Dot! Anybody have any information on the dogs? I bought from a guy that the pup from the breeder iv got the ukc papers anyway he will me 6 months old on the 26th of November also I'm new to trainin coondog pups so Any And all Advice will help thanks also I'm planning to train him alone I don't want to train him with other dogs

If all you have is puppy papers you need to send in for the permanent registration. This will give you your pups 3 generation.

You're off in the right direction,,IMO,,hunt him alone,,I always hunt my pups alone,,some hunters use feeders or cage coon to start with in the woods,,but I just put them in the timber and walk hunt them,,but I usually don't put a dog in the timber untill they are atleast 8 months old to a year old,,I've seen on here where many hunters have put their pups in the timber much younger,with good results,,,but I like mine to mature some before I put them in the timber,,good luck and welcome

So you are sayin not to use drags or anything just take him to the woods at night and let him figure It out on his own?

No,I'm just saying that's what I do,,I just let them figure it out on their own,,but there are hunters that use caged coon and turn them loose the first few times out to help them along,,I don't know many that use drags at night in the woods,,unless a coon has been dropped and they use it as a drag to try and get a young dog going!,good luck
