Coonhound traits database
I've been thinking about writing a database program that would allow a dog to be easily identified by its traits. The form below would be used to collect and enter the dogs information into the database. A man could also fill out the form to find a dog to breed to with the given traits he/she is looking for. Filling out the form will not give a 100% accurate representation of a dog, but will give information that best represents the dogs overall traits.
If enough breeders and hunters would like a tool like this available to them I'll continue to write the program around the data I receive off the forms. Traits not on the form are encouraged to be added. Message the form to me or paste it in an email to my address listed. (copy and past the form)
Coonhound Traits Form
Breed: ______________ Gender: _____
Born: ________ UKC#: _______________ DNA'd: Y / N
Name: __________________________________ Owner/s:___________________________________
Enter the number that best represents the dogs overall trait; for example on slick tree you would put 5 if the dog slick tree’s all the time, 3 if only half the time and 0 if the dog never slick tree’s. If your not sure about a trait, leave it blank.

Who fills out the forms?
Owner, handler, anyone that has hunted with the dog. The more forms submitted on one dog would increase the accuracy of the reflected traits on a dog. The forms submitted by owner or handler would set the trait base for each dog. The more forms submitted on a dog would make it that much harder for any one person to exaggerate a trait.

In theory it is a neat idea, but in reality if you sent 4 houndsmen out with the same hound on the same night, I believe you would end up with 4 score forms that would barely resemble each other.
