DC 40 collar dead
Last night I collared up my dog and my collar was fine (3 blinks). About 10 min. later when I went to release my dog the collar was dead and no contact with hand held and no light on collar. My question is does the battery go dead that quick? Collar will not take a charge when plug in either. How hard to change battery or easier to send it in if it is the battery? Thanks for any help.

I sent mine back and it saved me alot of trouble, but also I had 4 other dc40s that I could use for time being.
Same thing happen to me and I sent it to Garmin for repair. Mine was still under warranty but they had trouble with a batch of them the guy told me and if your serial number is in that range it shouldn't cost you anything but shipping to them.

That's what the garmin said to me also. I haven't had anymore problems with mine to this day.
Okay, thanks called and sending it in. I have another one so no problem. They also told me it didn't sound like the battery. Could be a bigger problem.
