hunting the sams woods over and over

Do you guys think hunting the same patch of woods on most nights will effect a pups develoment? There is only nearby patch of woods for me that is reasonably close enough to drive too on the week nights is why I ask.

It will change the coon movement pattern, if you turn loose in same spot at same time EVERY night. Try starting at different time or around on other side of woods, if possible. Take care, Ron.

I like to expose a pup to new things as much as I can...but IMO its more important to get em in the woods where they can run coon...

And like was said, it will effect the coon more than the dog...I try not to hunt a spot more than once a week...tough if I am pushing one hard..means more driving...I've seen coon move out of the spot completely...or just get smart and run for holes or dens...or another piece of the woods...in don't like den trees..especially with pups...I wanna see a coon so I know they aren't running backwards or picking a den due ton the scent on it etc...dens happen...but run a coon a bunch and he will get used to it and will pull all kinda tricks on the dog...

thanks for the advice guys. I will try and talk to the farmers around me and see if i can get permission to hunt in other places.

Careful

I would not kill many coon in those easy access spots. When you need to shoot one out, drive to a place you don't hunt often that is not as handy. I try and keep a health population of coon here close to home.
