trash breaking (Bear)
Any advise on what to do for dogs who are running bear. I believe they are running bear but not putting enough pressure on it to tree. Just a long chase with no end. Any suggestions on what to do to break them?
A good bear dog may be worth more than a broke coondog. Of course a good bear dog will make a bear climb. I reckon a e-collar would work on breaking a dog from bear the same as it would be on a deer.

Hey Jason,
are you sure their not running coyote?I have one doing what you've described, but was leaning toward yote's.We do have bear in my area also though.
How does he run circles for awhile then leave country and circles again? We run yotes on purpose and that is how they typically run.Although we usually catch em after awhile.
Jason,
If he ever trees the bear shoot it out to him alive!!!! That will break his ass from ever runnin' them again.LOL.....Just kiddin'.
Rick
Pretty sure its a bear as I hunt with some guys who have bear dogs. I didn't rule out the coyote thought either. Most of the time it lines out and you end up tracking dogs instead of coon hunting. Really don't get to hear alot of the chase. The other time his dog ran one was in a cut over and I don't think it left the country.
