Average cost per year?

I was wondering what the average cost per year was to compete in the challenge series? I know it gets pretty expensive and alot of travleing, just wanted to get an idea on average cost per year?

Thanks

Is that about average?

i guess

i spend money pretty easy . you figure most hunts are 2 day hunts and entry fee is 15-20 dollars a day and hotel stay. and food and bench shows , because you know you dont have the total dog unless you show also.

The year I ran juniors with Tess I figured I ran 1/2 the year and spent $3,000. So this year I have been keeping track (for tax reasons) Here it goes, i travel with usually with 3 to four of us spliting the cost but twice I've went by myself so with that being said, Since Jan. 1 2005
4,648 miles, gas, food, hotel and entry fee = $1,466.15 this does not include wear & tear on vehicle or what it cost for the wife to go shopping while I'm gone. LOL!!!
It truely does take a huge sacrife on behalf of your family to be able to run it.
IS IT WORTH IT ABSOLUTELY! Where else can you evaluate a dog than under different conditions, judgeing and terrain.
I tell people all the time that portrait of Tess on the wall is priceless, and it truely is. The dogs winning these events cant be that lucky all the time. Lord Arthor is owned by Chris Harstine & Donny McVay I am running him because Chris has to work every other weekend. Just helping a friend with a good dog.
Are these the best dogs in UKC? maybe not, but take a look at the Eliminator,Nationals, & NHBA results and you will see alot of these dogs names, could be just luck.
For anyone that runs the Black Gold series it is alot of fun seeing the same people and talking about last week and were your going next week.
Sorry to ramble on and hope this helps. Dave McVay

Hey Dave if this pup I bought from Donny turns out to be what I hope it will, I am thinking about trying it this year. I thought maybe since it is a Sundown pup you might want to sponsor me.....LOL....

It depends on my dogs and money situiation if I will give it a go or not.

Thanks Guys,
