Any one using the TEK 1.0 tracking system

Was wondering if anyone is using the sportdog TEK tracking system like to know the good bad n the ugly thanks

The TEK 1.0 does not have map card capacity, this means while you have access to distance from you and direction you will not be able to see distance from landmarks and roads which the Garmin has. I think the lack of mapping has impacted the popularity of the TEK 1.0

TEK 1.0

I HAVE ONE AND EVEN THOUGH IT DOSENT HAVE A MAP CARD I HAVE SEEN TOO MANY TIMES, IT IS A BETTER SYSTEM FOR FINDING YOUR DOG. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS ON A COMPETITION HUNT, DOGS GOT OUT OF HEARING ON NATIONAL FOREST, WE CALLED TIMEOUT AND GOT THE SYSTEMS OUT, ONE GUY HAD A GARMIN AND I HAD THE TEK. WE WERE IN THE MOUNTIANS AND HIS SYSTEM NEVER GOT GPS SIGNAL AND I TURNED MINE ON AND PICKED UP QUICK. THE WAY I SEE IT THE MAP DONE HIM NO GOOD, GOOD THING HIS DOG WAS WITH MINE.

THE BAD NO MAP, THE GOOD EVERYTING, YOU CAN ALSO USE A GARMIN LONG RANGE ANT, USED MY BUDDIES THE OTHER NIGHT AND PICKED THE COLLAR UP 2 MILES AND U CAN ALSO USE THE SHOCK, VIBRATE, AND TONE UP TO 7 MILES ALONG WITH THE GPS TRACK. LIKE MINE ALOT.

i like mine. more range than my garmin, and i love the shock combo. I heard a map was coming out soon for the Tek. If so that will be a nail in garmin coffin. I like the garmin don't get me wrong, but the tek is going to be the next level in dog tracking.
