Any appliance mechanics on here?

I got a whirlpool dryer having some problem. I came home from huntin one night and my wife said that it wouldnt cut off and it wasnt heating anymore. Well I figured the timer had went out at just the right point where the heating coil wouldnt come on. I got a new timer for it and it still wouldnt heat. Well the heating coil was broke. Got that fixed now. Its got a brand new timer on it but its not working. It will run but the timer wont move to cut it off automatically. Like I said its a whirlpool and its about 4 or 5 years old.

the new timer wont turn it off? Sounds like the centrifical switch is stuck in your motor= bad news. Does it turn off when you open the door?

Yea itll turn off like that. If the heating coil is broke will that make the timer not work. When I put the new timer on there and it still wouldnt heat I checked the coil and it was broke. I peiced it back together hoping it would work till I got the new coil. It heated for a while and then broke again. My wife said the timer was working until it quit heating.

It shouldnt matter about the heater if it is on time dry... try it on there if it is on auto dry then the timer wont advance.. 870 7464648 if ya want to call

Was that the problem? On autodry feature the timer only advances when the heating coils are on and not when they are off. On time dry it runs regardless and should shut off

Yea if you put it on time dry it works. So it quess it will go back to workin when I put the new heat coil in. Thanks for your help.
