Geared up and Ready to Roll

October is a slow time out West, with general elk and deer seasons in full swing. I've been hunkered down for nearly three weeks now just roadin dogs and staying in shape for things to come. I even ordered up my bobcat tags the other day online for the first time and my hounds should be digging and scratching again before I know it, with bear season back on and the ongoing lion season, and bobcat about five weeks out.....wow, a guy will be busy for sure!

The temperatures have cooled off to mid-thirties overnight and a daytime high in the sixties, and as you know the hounds sure like that. I've also been uploading old video into my computer and looking at the many hunts that have gone by, the lions and yes the bears. A person also ponders what the new season holds in store: will there be lots of animals to trail and tree? or just enough? or will there be any of those super tom lions and huge boars that gets a guy's heart pumping in the near future?

I hope each of you are also pondering the hunts of tomorrow and remembering the ones that have gone by.........

Best of Luck,
Ike

Yes he is pretty good one. Probably one of the best Ive had, which isnt saying much lol. Only problem is hes getting kinda old now, and starting to fall out on the really long races, but I cant complain much, he done his part when he could.

They say all good things come to an end, and sure enough a dog's days do not last forever. All we can do is enjoy them in their prime and be there for them as they fade........
